During the candle-making experience, you will be learning in a professional candle-making
environment with professional equipment such as wax melters. The use of this equipment is
monitored at all times and proper safety methods are taught without fail.

Sister Scents MI, LLC reserves the right to use photos and videos taken during candle-making
events, workshops, and other events used for publicity materials and social media. Registration
in candle-making events gives Sister Scents MI, LLC permission to use those images without
further consent or compensation.
​
Participation in candle-making events and other events/products is solely at the risk and liability
of the individual and/or the parent or legal guardian enrolling the child. Due to the potentially
dangerous nature of hot wax melters, dyes, fragrance oil & hot wax, it is the responsibility of the
registering individual and/or parent or guardian to ensure the proper placement of the individual
and/or child with regard to the individual and/or child’s skill level. Sister Scents MI, LLC and its
employees cannot accept liability for any injury or damages that you or your child may suffer
related to the premises of the event or participation in activities sponsored by Sister Scents MI,
LLC. This includes but is not limited to slips and falls on the premises. Every effort will be made
by Sister Scents MI, LLC and its employees to ensure the safety of you and/or your child while
on the premises.

Waiver, Release, and Indemnity
Waiver & Release: In consideration of being permitted to participate in a candle-making
workshop (the “Workshop”) offered by Sister Scents MI, LLC (the “Company”), I, for and on
behalf of myself, my heirs, and personal representatives and all persons claiming by or through
me, hereby release, waive and discharge the Company and its officers, directors, employees,
contractors, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from all existing and future claims and/or
causes of action arising from, or relating to, the Workshop, my presence on the Company’s
premises (the “Premises”) or leased premises, or my use of the Company’s tools, equipment or
facilities (the “Equipment”), including, without limitation, injury, illness, death, or property loss,
regardless of whether arising, in whole or part, from the action or inaction of any Released
Parties.

Assumption of Risks: The Company may, but is not obligated to, permit the consumption of
alcoholic beverages on Premises. I understand that participation in both candle-making and
drinking alcohol carries certain known and unknown risks that cannot be eliminated regardless
of the care taken to avoid injuries. I acknowledge that I am aware and voluntarily expose myself
to risks inherent in candle making, including, and not limited to, physical and emotional injury or
death resulting from serious burns/scalding and other heat-related injuries; slippery surfaces;
lacerations; allergic reactions; and eye injuries. I further acknowledge that if I choose to
consume alcohol on the Premises, I am aware of and voluntarily expose myself to many risks of
alcohol consumption, and the risk that alcohol consumption might exacerbate the risks inherent
in candle making. I hereby knowingly assume full and sole responsibility for all of the foregoing
risks and acknowledge that my participation in the Workshop is fully voluntary. Sister Scents MI,
LLC will not serve alcohol.

Indemnification & Hold Harmless: I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the
Released Parties from any and all existing and future claims, actions, suites, procedures, costs,
expenses, damages, and liabilities (including, without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees and
court costs) brought, asserted, incurred or arising from or as a result of my participation in the
Workshop, my presence on the Premises or my use of the Equipment.

Policies & Procedures: I understand that the Company may impose certain policies and
procedures in the connection with the Workshop, including without limitation the right to exclude
intoxicated parties from the Premises or participation in the Workshop. I agree to abide by any
and all such policies and procedures and understand that if I violate them, I may be asked to
leave the premises without refunding any fees or other costs I may have incurred in connection
with the Workshop.

Use of Likeness: I hereby grant to the Company the right to use my likeness and recorded
actions during my participation in the Workshop, without charge, in the Company’s marketing
and promotional materials.
​
Minors: I understand that I cannot bring any children under age 8 to the Premises during the
Workshop and that all Workshop participants must be at least 10 years old. I will ensure that
one adult will remain present on the Premises during the entire Workshop for every Workshop
with participants ages 10-15. I understand that each Workshop participant who is under the age
of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign this waiver on behalf of the Workshop participant.

Chargeback: All references to a “chargeback” refer to a reversal of a credit or debit card charge
placed on the Sites and/or at the Services initiated by You. There is no reason for a chargeback
to ever be filed. If you feel that your credit or debit card was used fraudulently On The Sites Or
At The Services, Please Contact The Company For Immediate Resolution. You Agree That You
Will Not Chargeback Any Amounts Charged To Your Credit Or Debit Card On The Sites Or At
The Services. If You Chargeback A Credit Or Debit Card Charge For A Payment Initiated By
You Or Any Authorized User Of The Credit Or Debit Card, You Agree That The Company May
Recover The Amount Of The Chargeback In Addition To Fees By Any Means Deemed
Necessary, Including, But Not Limited To, Recharging Your Credit Or Debit Card Or Having The
Amount Recovered By A Collection Agency.

Cancellation: Due to the custom nature of our parties and workshops, Refunds are not issued
for workshop reservation cancellations if outside the stated below notice period. A workshop
reservation for 1-2 seats may be canceled and refunded in full if at least 72 hours (3-days)
notice is received before your scheduled workshop time and 3 - 10 seats if at least 7-days
notice is received before your scheduled workshop time. 11+ Seats or private events if at least
14-days notice is received before your scheduled workshop time.

Reschedule: Should you need a one-time RESCHEDULE on your workshop reservation, we
must receive an email with 24-hour notice for 1-2 seats, 3-day notice for 3-8 seats, and a 7-day
notice for private parties. Your workshop reservation will be transferred to a store credit that can
be used only for a future workshop (within 45 days of the original workshop date or stores
availability &/or discretion), If part of your party cannot make it and we are not notified within the
above notice period based on your party size, someone within the party can make a
candle/product (the value of one-workshop purchased) for them.
 
All notices must be done by sending an email to info@sisterscetsmi.com.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept calls or voicemails as FINAL notice to reschedule or
cancellations. We understand things happen, due to scheduling reasons, we cannot accept
rescheduling notice on the day of your event. If you arrive 30+ minutes late, do not provide 72-
hour, 7-day, or 14-day respectively cancellation notice, or 24-hr or 72-hr or 7-day respectively
reschedule notice or 'no-show', you forfeit your reservation payment.

Severability: In the event that any court of competent jurisdiction shall declare any part of this
agreement provided to be invalid, prohibited, or unenforceable, the remaining portions of this
agreement shall remain enforceable. To the fullest extent allowed by the law, any invalid,
unenforceable or prohibited portion of this agreement shall be modified by a court of law so as
to allow the same to be interpreted in such manner so as to be enforceable.
 
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have executed this waiver, effective as of the date set forth below.
Participant or Guardian (if under age of 16)

Candle Care Acknowledgment: Do not burn the candle until 2 weeks from the date you make
the candle. Burn 4 hours at a time & away from flammable materials. To prevent smoking & soot
buildup, keep wick centered and trimmed to 1/4”. Keep out of drafts & away from children &
pets. Do not move the candle while burning or if wax is hot. Discontinue use when only ¼” of
wax remains. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all rights and claims against Sister Scents MI,
LLC and staff for damages for personal injury, personal property, death, or permanent total
disability, which I may have or which may hereafter occur as a result of participation at Sister
Scents MI, LLC Workshop events. This waiver is intended to discharge in advance Sister
Scents MI, LLC from any and all liability arising out of or in connection with any part of the
entireties of Sister Scents MI, LLC. I understand that there are certain risks and hazards
involving participation at Sister Scents MI, LLC candle-making. Each participant will be
engaging in activities that involve the risk of potential injury, which might result not only from
their own actions, inactions, or negligence, but the action, inaction, or negligence of others, or
the condition of the premises or of any equipment used. Further that there may be other risks
not known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time Sister Scents MI, LLC is not
responsible for any accidents or incidents even those involving overconsumption of alcohol or
burns or slip and falls. ​
 
I do hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all rights and claims against Sister Scents
MI, LLC Inc. for damages for personal injury, death, or property damage that I may incur as a
result of participation. I acknowledge that I have read and that I understand the above
provisions in this waiver and consent of liability, and agree to abide by them and sign of my own
free will.

I knowingly, voluntarily, and expressly waive any claim I may have against Sister Scents MI,
LLC its owners, and class/workshop Sponsor, for any injury or damages that I may sustain as a
result of participating in the program. I also acknowledge I have read the candle care
instructions.
